On November 7, 2023 the students and teachers of Grades 7 and 8 Cluster gathered together at the school gymnasium for the opening ceremony of the 2023 Intramural Games. The masters of ceremonies for this year’s intramurals were Andrei Martin Rey, a Grade 7 student, and Alfonso Quitevis, a Grade 8 student. The intramural guidelines were given by Mr. John Eric C. Agrava, Grade 7 and 8 P.E. teacher. This was followed by the opening remarks from Mr. Allan M. Sebastian, the Junior High School Assistant Principal.
Mr. Arvin Braganza, a Claretian alumnus and a former basketball varsity player of CSQC graced the event as guest speaker. He gave an inspirational message motivating the students and reminding them of the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and determination. His love for sports paved the way for him to become a basketball coach at San Beda University.
During the ceremony, Dwayne Aritao, a Grade 8 student, led the sportsmanship oath as the students pledged to compete with integrity, respect, and fair play. More than the quest to win, the students were directed to live the Claretian values as they actively participate in the events.
The opening ceremony of the cluster intramurals was a much-anticipated event that embodied the true spirit of unity and camaraderie. It set the stage for days of exciting sports competitions, where teamwork and sportsmanship are celebrated just as much as victories. Beyond the thrill of competition, the opening ceremony reminded everyone of the shared identity and values that define the entire Claret School community.
