In a solemn rite, Claret School of Quezon City ushered in the season of Advent with the blessing of Advent wreaths for each classroom and office on December 2, 2024. Fr. Charles Jocris Mortela, CMF, the school’s spiritual director, presided the blessing, which was held immediately after the flag-raising ceremony at the school quadrangle.

The candles of the Advent wreath symbolize hope, peace, joy, and love—virtues that guide the faithful in their spiritual preparation as the community journeys toward the birth of Christ. The school community is encouraged to use the wreaths as focal points for prayer and reflection throughout Advent. This simple celebration reminds everyone that amidst life’s busyness, we are called to pause, reflect, and ready our hearts for the coming of our Savior.

This activity reflects the school’s mission to integrate faith and education, nurturing a community that values both spiritual growth and academic excellence. As Advent progresses, students and personnel are reminded to prepare not only for Christmas but also for Christ’s presence in their daily lives. #ScientiaMaximeCumVirtute
