On 2 December 2017, Claret High School Batch ’97, together with fellow Claretians from Grade School Batch ’93, organized an outreach program for 73 staff and personnel of Claret School.
The initiative was a result of the Golden Jubilee celebration when members of the batch went back to celebrate this milestone with the entire Claretian community.
But the celebration developed to a more meaningful event for them. Apart from reminiscing the fun memories and getting reacquainted with teachers, the batch thought of establishing projects that give meaning to the Claretian mission. They prepared a program filled with fun and games, raffle, and was concluded with a simple yet festive merienda. The outreach program is just the first of many initiatives that the batch is working on to really give back to the institution.
Fr. Mauricio Ulep, CMF, the current school director, delivered the welcome message and shared how proud he is that Claretians come back not just give, but also to exemplify the virtues that St. Anthony Mary Claret taught them – compassion, excellence and service to the community. Fr. Ulep also presented to Batch ’97 the Golden Jubilee symbol that represents the Claretian’s mission to build communities and grow in knowledge with virtue.
Paolo Zamora, Batch ’97 President, received the symbol on behalf of his batch mates. “We thank Fr. Ulep and the school coordinators for allowing us to share our gratefulness through this outreach program. We are also thankful for considering this as part of the year-long Golden Jubilee celebration,” he said.
Rodelio Santos, Accreditation, Planning, and School Development Officer, and Agnes Galapon, Secretary to the School Director, were also present to join the festivities. The event is also part of Batch 97’s 20th anniversary celebration as graduates of Claret School.
