On September 10,2022, Claret School of Quezon City held a virtual General Assembly and Elections for the members of the Parent-Teacher Association. The activity began with a Holy Mass which was presided by Fr. Mauricio T. Ulep, CMF and concelebrated by Fr. Wigbert M. Papa, CMF.

 

 

After the mass, the Director for General Assembly, the Treasurer and the President of the PTA Board delivered their messages and reports. In her report, Mrs. Joy Tayamen, the outgoing Board President expressed appreciation for the collaborative effort in ensuring the success of the different PTA projects last school year--the ratification of the amended Constitution and By-laws, the vaccination drives for students, the fund-raising raffle project in coordination with the Grade School Faculty Association, High School Faculty Association and ASSA-CS, the Pasa-Book Project (Donation, Exchange and Sale of Old Textbooks), and the financial aid to parents, students and teachers through the Mutual Aid Fund. Significantly, in her report, Mrs. Tayamen mentioned the launching of the Educational Assistance Program which aims to assist qualified incoming Grade 1 students with a 100% tuition fee grant during the entire academic journey until graduation. The President’s Report also covered the conduct of virtual Grade Level Family Days and the presence of parents in the face-to-face activities like the First Holy Communion, Confirmation, Graduation and Moving-Up Activities. In coordination with the Office of the Provincial Mission Procure of the Claretian Missionaries, the PTA also made a fund donation and book donation.

On the same day, the Student Development Center sponsored a webinar entitled, The Evolution of Parenting: Raising Children in the 21st Century. With the input of Dr. Marie Grace A. Gomez, a UP Diliman Professor 4 at the Counselor Education Area from the College of Education, the webinar accompanied the parents to have awareness and understanding of the 21st century parenting especially on positive parenting.

The conduct of election of officers in the homeroom, grade level, and Board was also part of the day’s assembly.

With the renewed partnership of the School and the home, Claret School of Quezon City shall continue its mission of forming students according to the Claretian philosophy of education.
