Frequently Asked Questions

1. ACADEMICS

1.1 What curriculum and academic programs are offered at Claret School of Quezon City?

Claret School of Quezon City offers the following academic programs:

      Nursery Program

The Junior Nursery and Senior Nursery Curriculum is a seamless integration of subjects crafted into a series of modules for one whole school year. Each module consists of 12-15 sessions where the learning areas, Reading, Language, Math, Music and Movement, Values Education, Art, Penmanship, and Practical Life are included. Exploration and more engagement happen through Fun Friday activities.

Grade School and Kindergarten Program The Kindergarten Curriculum is a web of learning experiences that are intertwined. The thematic curriculum integrates the concepts and skills in Reading, Language, Filipino, Math, Christian Living Education, Music, Art, PE, Penmanship and Practical Life.

Kindergarten students are also given an opportunity to explore their hobbies and interests in Theater, Science, Sports, Music and Movement, Cooking, and Arts and Crafts through Fun Thursday activities.

The Grade School curriculum is designed to develop the holistic development of learners through academic excellence and Christian values formation. These twin goals are realized in the academic and non-academic programs via the practice of integration through the melding of subject matters and learning activities, values infusion through the inculcation of Claretian values in the learning activities, learner-centered methods, reading and writing across the curriculum, cooperative learning methods, involvement of community resources, and special programs that make provisions for the needs of diverse learners in the school.

Academic subjects in the Grade School include Christian Living Education, Mathematics, Science, Reading, Language, Filipino, Araling Panlipunan, Music, Art, Physical Education, Home Economics and Livelihood Education (HELE), and Computer.

High School Program

The High School academic program is anchored on the school’s thrust of integral formation. This formation ensures the development of the thinking skills through the acquisition of knowledge and strategies for sound decision making, and the application of acquired knowledge and skills in pursuits that respond to the needs of the underprivileged and advocate responsible stewardship of God’s creation. The curriculum prepares students for entry into college. While academic excellence through the various curricular offerings are very important, physical, and emotional health, social responsibility, cultural enrichment, and spiritual well- being are likewise strengthened through the cocurricular and extracurricular activities, and other school activities and celebrations that make school life more engaging, authentic, and meaningful. All this is geared toward the integral formation of the student.

The subjects in the Junior High School include Christian Living Education, Mathematics, Science, English, Filipino, Araling Panlipunan, Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health (MAPEH), Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) which includes Computer and Robotics and Practical Arts.
