1. Summer Robotics Workshop Series: “BUILD, CODE, CREATE!” A Hands-on Robotics Experience for Future Innovators

 June 2-13 (M-W-F)

Group 1: Robo Explorers-Kids (Ages: 6-8 years old) / 8:30-9:30AM / Fee: P4,000

Objectives:

  • Introduce basic STEM concepts through storytelling and play
  • Develop fine motor skills, creativity and teamwork
  • Learn simple logic and cause-effect relationships through drag-and-drop coding

Activities:

  • Build simple robotic animals, cars and machines
  • Use tablet-based coding (visual blocks)
  • Mini robot races and storytelling with animated robot characters

Outcomes:

  • Understand basic mechanical concepts (gears, sensors)
  • Complete simple challenges like making a robot dance or navigate through a maze

 

Group 2:

  • Robo Builders-Junior (Ages: 9-12 years old) / 10-11:30AM / Fee: P4,500

Objectives:

  • Deepen understanding of mechanical design and sensor use
  • Learn basic programming (block-based or simple Python)
  • Promote design thinking and problem solving

Activities:

  • Build and program robots to complete challenges (e.g. follow a line, avoid obstacles)
  • Team-based projects like “Rescue Robot” or “Robot Pet”

Intro to sensors:

  • touch, ultrasonic, light
  • Outcomes: Build functional robotic models with multiple sensors
  • Collaborate in teams to solve themed engineering problems

 

Group 3: Robo Innovators-Teens (Ages: 13+ years old) / 1-3PM / Fee: P5,000

Objectives:

  • Understand electronics, sensors, actuators, and microcontroller logic
  • Learn basic-to-intermediate coding (Python, or Arduino IDE)
  • Encourage innovation through open-ended problem solving

Activities:

  • Build autonomous systems: smart cars, obstacle-avoiding robots, or smart homes
  • Code programs using sensors (IR, ultrasonic, light, motion)
  • Team project: Create a robot to solve a real-world problem (e.g. sorting waste)

Outcomes:

  • Build custom robots with code and electronic components
  • Pitch a final team project to a panel for feedback
