Dear members of the community, fiesta blessings!
Today, we celebrate the 54th Foundation Anniversary of Claret School of Quezon City and the Feast of St. Anthony Mary Claret, our patron. This day, the 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time also marks the World Mission Sunday. Our celebrations are set within the framework of the 500th Year of Christianity in the Philippines and the 75th anniversary of the Claretian Missionary Presence in the Philippines. At the heart of these celebrations is MISSION. Mission defines the life and vocation of St. Anthony Mary Claret. Mission defines the community dynamism of this School. Mission defines the work and the movement of the Congregation and of the Church.
We are forever grateful for the gift of mission—and with such great gift comes great responsibility not to stagnate but to move forward with audacity. With missionary zeal, we embrace a creative and an aggressive response that would bring new growth in our life as a Claretian community amidst the volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity of today’s world. Such growth shall be sustained with the best practices that shall be bolstered. A journey towards more systematic, unified, and streamlined structure is a path that we have to take in order to keep our strengths reinforced. Hence, with the approval of the Board of Trustees, Claret School of Quezon City is gearing towards an Integrated Basic Education Program. This is a journey that we have to take as we transition in the coming months and prepare for this new program in the coming school year.
We need each one along this journey. Together with each other’s contribution, we shall bring Claret School of Quezon City in new heights of excellence as we strengthen the best of who we are.
Today, as we celebrate the day of our foundation, we claim not only the past but also the future with greater zeal. Let hope spring from our hearts and let the spirit of communio keep us together as we face the future.
We are all marked with mission. Let this this mission set us forward with passion as we move beyond 54 years.
