Inspired by the Filipino fiesta, along with our culture and tradition, the Grades 4, 5 and 6 Cluster Family Day celebration held last March 8, 2025 was anchored on the theme “45ti6! Pamilyang Claretiano, Sama-sama Tayo!” The main catchphrase “45ti6!” is read as “Astig!”, a Filipino slang word which can mean anything from cool to tough and unafraid – describing our Grades 4-6 students and our families.

After the registration, the students and their families were welcomed with festive and colorful decorations, along with a free hot taho, as they entered the CSQC Auditorium for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. The day started with a Holy Mass presided by Fr. Maurico T. Ulep, CMF and Fr. Charles Jocris M. Mortela, CMF. During the homily, Claretians were reminded of the importance of giving time and attention as an expression of love. The families were also reminded that the Lenten season is a time to reconnect and reflect.

After the Holy Mass, the families were officially welcomed by our dear School Principal, Mrs. Razerly D. Ibanez. She highlighted the importance of collaboration between the home and the school, and the impact it brings to the performance of the students.

This was followed by the lively and festive performances from our Grades 4, 5 and 6 students. These performances were one of the highlights of the event as the students showcased their talents.

After the performances, the students and their families headed outside the auditorium to grab their free ice cream and experience the different Philippine Games prepared by the parents.  They enjoyed playing games like Kadang-kadang, Luksong Lubid, Tumbang Preso, Bato Bato Pik, Egg Carton Challenge and Ring Toss, while being treated with a festive drum-and-lyre performance from the Diliman Marching Oriens. The students were very excited to play the games and perform the different tasks to complete their activity cards for a chance to win in the Special Raffle.

After the games, the families were treated with a cultural fiesta dance performance from the Lerion Folkloric Dance Troupe from Malolos, Bulacan, showcasing the Philippine fiesta and the love for the Filipino culture.

The day ended with a raffle draw wherein the students eagerly cheered for the winners. Those who were able to collect stamps on their Activity Cards were given a chance to win gift certificates from Starbucks, Timezone and SM, from the Special Raffle. In the grand raffle, minor prizes from our sponsors such as Cash Gifts from Prulife UK Double Dragon Life Insurance Agency, Gift Vouchers from Superpark Philippines and Gift Certificates from KFC were given away.

More so, the students enthusiastically anticipated for their names to be called as one of the winners of the raffle per Grade Level which include Uniqlo Gift Certificates, Smartphone TV, F1 McLaren LEGO, RedMi Smart Watch, Mountain Bike and Nintendo Switch Lite.

It was indeed a festive day of celebration for our Claretian families, attended by ~85% of the cluster’s population. This event will never be this successful without the support of the Claretian families to make this event happen. All attendees went home with a Family Day kit which includes a personalized stamp, socks and hand towel, along with special raffle items for everyone, their prizes and souvenirs, and of course, a smile on their faces and a core memory added.

The event was spearheaded by the Grades 4, 5 and 6 PTA officers led by Mr. Mark de Vera, Mrs. Ruby Pimentel and Mrs. Kamille Rosales and all the hardworking level officers and volunteers, with the collaborative effort of the Student Affairs and Formation Coordinator, Mrs. RB-Carmelette Sanchez, together with the Homeroom Advisers and teachers. Definitely, the Grades 4, 5 and 6 Cluster Family Day was another one for the books – a day full of gratitude, togetherness and camaraderie. #ScientiaMaximeCumVirtute
