The Lenten season is a time of awakening. We might have become so complacent in our life and mission as Claretians that we have readily dismissed the more essential demands in our lives. We might have created multiple excuses  so as to keep the ordinary and stay in our comfort zones.

At some point, we might have masked ourselves with what is accidental  and projected images  crafted with artificial goodness. Centered on our ego, we might have disregarded others imposing only ourselves.

We need to be disturbed again and again. The call to renewal that opens our hearts to embrace the fundamental truths and the necessary acts of conversion and charity must reverberate constantly deep within our conscience. We have to allow God to touch our hardened hearts and direct us to a life filled with His Spirit.

May this Lenten journey lead us to Christ and His resurrection.
